Children with rare urological conditions deserve only the best pediatric specialists available. We are an expert team of 35 pediatric urologists from 5 hospitals who have made it our mission to improve lives, 1 child at a time.
WHO WE ARE
We are a resource for parents trying to find answers. We give our small patients the opportunity to grow up to lead normal lives and flourish. PUMA is a multi-institutional collaborative made up of pediatric urologists from five Children’s Hospitals in the Midwest. Together our goal is to study and improve healthcare for children with rare urologic conditions. This is our life’s work.

Each Children’s Hospital has a depth of experience in the rarest urologic conditions. Now we have combined our experience, research efforts, and approach to each unique case in order to improve the outcome for every patient. Due to the rare nature of the conditions we treat, our knowledge is stronger together than it is alone. As your child grows, one of our main goals as a multi-institutional group is to ensure that we continually mentor the next generation of leaders to help usher your child into a bright future. Our senior leaders are constantly coaching, mentoring and training junior faculty on the newest cutting-edge research, clinical approaches and latest surgical techniques for conditions such as bladder exstrophy.
